Aquamarines are named after the Latin word for seawater as they used to be considered lucky for sailors at sea. These stones can be found in various saturation's of blues, the most desirable being shades of  blue to slightly green hues. These stones are also the birthstone for March and mined at high elevations in Pakistan’s Karakoram Mountains.
